Impressionistic fine art painting by BarbYatesDudding

Spring in the Foothills 8x10 oil/acrylic

In my next several blogs I am going to show my process of painting
this 8x10 into an original painting 36x48 for a client.

This was painted on location (out the back of my truck) on the
back roads near Taos NM.

Abstract Colorado landscape painting

Summer Clouds 2
30x40 oil/acrylic
www.bsyatesart.com
Loving Clouds
How I love to watch the clouds
Peacefully, peacefully drifting by
Silently upon the breeze
They ease across the clear blue sky.

How they build and roll and tumble
Just like angels out to play
Dancing with the sylphs and fairies
Head o'er heels along the way.

Each new shape is quite amusing:
Puffs to great majestic towers
Building for their loving gift
To bless the earth with vital showers.

ABSTRACT CONTEMPORARY FINE ART

White Study on Blue 20x20
ABSTRACT, what exactly is the definition of abstract in art?
Good question, my favorite definition comes from "About.com":
ABSTRACT, the creative process becomes the art itself.
"The work of art becomes an event"(Harold Rosenberg).
And for this reason it can be called "action art".
I know when I create/paint I need to move around my canvas.
From this movement shapes form.
Stay tuned for more on the definition of Abstract Art.
