"Church on the Hill", oil painting by Colorado artist BarbYatesDudding

24x30 oil on canvas
How lucky I was to stumble upon this church. I think it was part of a little village

"Pink Roses in Glass", vintage romantic oil painting by Colorado artist, BarbYatesDudding

"Pink Roses in Glass"
another in my series, "Romantic Roses"
These are inspired by old Victorian paintings of roses.
Of course my paintings are very expressionistic, bold and colorful
I love to set up still life displays in my studio and paint with classical music on and see
what evolves. I will show photos of my next display in upcoming blogs.
Check out my new ETSY store, I am doing this endeavor with my daughter, Cory.
Our store is about renewed, reused, redesigned and re purposed treasures.
My role is using found materials to paint on and Cory is in love with taking discarded objects, redesigning them and finding a new purpose for them

Roses painted on vintage wood, by BarbYatesDudding

Something new, something old & re-purposed........
I am painting a series of "vintage flowers"
These are painted in oil on old wood planks and ceiling tins.
I love the effect of this vintage wood plank, taken from a 1904 property that was torn down in Kansas.
The blue paint is original
and some has flaked off. I have oiled, varnished and sealed this fun painting so it will
last many more years.
For more of these vintage paintings stay tuned;

Winning painting Contemporary Fine Art International by BarbYatesDudding

 Barbara Yates Dudding of Colorado
won our February Art Challenge  "Friendship

Barbara Yates Dudding
I am so flattered that my painting won the Febuary challenge on
Contemporary Fine Art International  When reading over the judges comments, this favored painting was chosen for not just composition, but color and subject presentation. The word 'contrast' appeared in all of the written critics from 'contrast of emotions' to 'contrast of color' and 'contrast of line and shape'.
