And the wind, full of wantonness,
wooes like lover
The young aspen-trees till they
tremble all over.

Spring abstract fine art oil painting

Pink Blossoms
12x24 giclee on acrylic

ABOUT the COLOR PINK:
Brighter pinks are youthful, fun, and exciting, while vibrant pinks have the same high energy as red; they are sensual and passionate without being too aggressive. Toning down the passion of red with the purity of white results in the softer pinks that are associated with romance and the blush of a young woman's cheeks. It's not surprising that when giving or receiving flowers, pink blossoms are a favorite. Pink is the color of happiness and is sometimes seen as lighthearted. For women who are often overworked and overburdened, an attraction to pink may speak of a desire for the more carefree days of childhood.

How the color blue effects us physically

  •                                                   Calms and sedates
  • Cools
  • Aids intuition
Blue is the color of the Throat Chakra, also known as Visuddha.

This chakra is located in the throat. It is linked to the throat, neck, hands, and arms.

The Throat Chakra is connected with speech and hearing,
 and encourages spiritual communication.
Opening the Throat Chakra is said to improve clairaudience.

Gemstones that will aid the Throat Chakra include turquoise and aquamarine. (ask.com)

Contemporary impressionistic fine art oil painting

Amethyst Aspen
oil 24x48
I love to try to capture the light this time of year.
This field of Aspen trees had all lost their leaves and as the
sun was setting the light played off their naked trunks.
"Trees are much like human beings and enjoy each other's company.
Only a few love to be alone."

Contemporary impressionistic fine art painting

Aspen's Nocturnal
Another in my "aspen" series. This was created with layer on layer
of vivid color, texture and depth.

"Impressionistic artist tasted the world through their eyes.
The new painting was all about the thrill and delight of the visual sensation, which means becoming intimately involved with the sensation of light or 'painting the light' (you can see how far a field we have come when Thomas Kinkade uses the same phrase). It is about painting directly from nature and expressing the rush of your visual (as opposed to ideational) sensation on the canvas in such a way that the activity itself is the point, not the painting!" A triptych journey, creating a large oil painting part 2

To continue my journey painting my "Aspen Story" (c)2009;
I blocked in color in my sections on my canvas. I like to paint the darkest focus, first.
This is where the viewers eye perceives depth.
I line up my first (middle) completed canvas next to my working canvas.
I want these to be a continuous landscape.
So on to painting my trees.
Stay tuned for my next blog to see where this journey goes;

A triptych journey, creating a large oil painting

This is the second of three canvas blocked in.
I usually use a base color in each section that can show through the finished painting.
i have found useing and shipping a very large canvas can be a challenge, so I love to use several.
This painting is continuous and  painted in series.
These aspen trees are from the past Autumn,
they are  so beautiful and always changing.
Stay tuned to see this painting evolve
I will post my progress weekly on this blog. Enjoy!
